Easy Braised Pork Belly




We googled a recipe for braised pork belly with soy sauce, tried & tested it ourselves with our frozen pork belly (https://www.parkfood.com/product-page/pork-belly-slice). This recipe is very yummy and super easy to prepare. Served with white rice to complete the meal.


Ingredients:

  1. 500 grams, of pork belly (cut into bite size)

  2. 2 tbsp, kechap manis

  3. 2 tbsp, light soy sauce

  4. 1 tbsp, dark say sauce (adjust for colour intensity)

  5. 1 tbsp, oyster sauce

  6. 1 tbsp, cooking oil (I used Olive oil, but any oil should work the same)

  7. 3 pcs, star anise

  8. 1 pcs, cinammon stick

  9. 1 bulb, garlic

  10. 350ml, water

Method:


Lightly stir fry pork belly with oil in a cooking pot, when pork belly is cooked, combined rest of the ingredients into pot and simmer over slow heat for about 1.5 hrs. If you like a little more variety, you can add boiled quail eggs/eggs, tau kua or button mushrooms as you desire.
